Operations/Customer Support Associate
San Francisco, CA / Emeryville, CA
December 2011 to May 2014
I joined Cardpool in its start-up stages and stuck with it for over two years as it grew into a gift card exchange leader. I primarily handled and resolved customer support issues in Zendesk and Gmail within 24 hours and also trained team members going into this role. Other responsibilities included processing orders for shipment and incoming inventory and performing phone-based customer verification. For a short time, I also assisted with some of the company’s social media marketing in writing blog posts and monitoring Facebook and Twitter accounts.
San Francisco, CA
June 2007 to December 2012
My longest-held position consisted of assistant duties in the office/administrative and legal fields. I filed and indexed documents from business litigation cases; collated, photocopied, faxed, and scanned documents; ordered and restocked office supplies; set up and cleaned up conference rooms for depositions and meetings; distributed incoming mail, sent outgoing mail, and received packages; answered and transferred calls on a multi-line phone system; greeted visitors; ran various errands; and assisted with projects as necessary. I provided support and back-up to the branch manager, our legal assistant, and three attorneys. I was in charge of creating inventory spreadsheets, communicating with Central Files in the firm’s Los Angeles headquarters, and placing boxed up files from closed cases in the basement before they were shipped for storage. Over the years, I worked overtime occasionally to assist with larger projects, such as pulling specific documents from loan files to be copied for motions for summary judgment.
San Bruno, CA
November 2006 to January 2007
I worked on the sales floor in different sections of the store during the holiday season (No cash wrap duties). I greeted customers; gave them samples of and recommendations for products; promoted sales and the Angels credit card; restocked items; and monitored the fitting room.
Cashier / Concession Staff Member
Daly City, CA
May 2005 to November 2006
I started out at my first job working in the theater’s three concession stands. I operated the machinery to cook food; fulfilled customers’ orders; restocked items; cleaned equipment and concession areas; and operated the cash register. About six or seven months in, I served as a cashier at the box office. You can say this is where I first started recommending movies on a regular basis to strangers.
